Lucius Verus was Co-Emperor with Marcus Aurelius during the first nine years of Marcus’ reign. A handsome guy, his image became popular during and after his imperial days. This bust is a late-nineteenth-century reproduction of the marble Roman original. Judging from its art deco style, the noir marble base dates from the 1920s-30s.
